Session 77 - The Cradle’s Pit

Jaruul comes down the elevator alone and drags the party to the cavern where the others wait. Past the barricade, the Cradle’s ranged and magic fighters open fire. Kailas and Sneid fall — and Nyxara drags them back from the brink, even as a necromantic aura tried to hold them down. Peltin is killed, a note on his body ties the symbol to a kidnapped child, and at the back of the cave, a chained boy waits to be freed.

Through the Barricade

  • Jaruul came down the elevator alone, still in a rush — and grabbed Korin’s hand, dragging everyone to the cave tunnel where Sneid Arkmos was.
  • Sneid and Jaruul caught the party up on what they thought was going on below: these people were part of The Cradle.
  • The party discussed tactics for the fight ahead — and wondered where Dristuul was. Jaruul told them Dristuul had stayed upstairs, but he knew little more than that.
  • Kailas smashed through the barricade blocking the entrance to an open space inside the cave.

The Cavern Battle

  • As the party pushed deeper past the barricade, they were engaged in combat by a group of ranged and magic fighters firing from behind cover.
  • During the battle, both Kailas and Sneid Arkmos fell — but Nyxara managed to bring them back, despite a necromantic aura preventing Kailas from being healed.
  • The party was ultimately victorious, killing Peltin.

The Note and the Child

  • In Peltin’s body, Sneid Arkmos found a note bearing the same mysterious symbol the party had seen before. Written on it was information about a child:
    • Edrin Halvek — 12 years old, the adopted child of a rich family in the higher rings — the very disappearance the party had been investigating.
  • During the fight, Korin had noticed a child chained and jailed at the back of the cave. He quickly made his way over to help them out, providing the child — now known to be Edrin Halvek — with food and water.
