Role in the Campaign
Marik Varn is the bartender of The Brass Kettle Inn in Dravenmere. In Session 73, after the drinking contest between Kailas and Kegfoot, Marik came to pick the unconscious guard up off the floor. Because Kegfoot had agreed to pay, the party received 6 rooms for free.
In Session 74, on the morning of the 15th of Unndilar, Marik spoke with Korin over breakfast and offered to help the party. He did not recognise the ring (the Signet of the Silent Guard), advised the party to travel to the capital to learn more about the royal family, and noted that skyship travel usually costs around 100 gold. When Korin asked about the city’s missing children, Marik said one missing child had come from the upper levels and was from a wealthy family; when Sneid Arkmos asked about The Cradle, Marik knew nothing of it. He also explained how the lifts of Dravenmere work.
