Session 78 - The Granite Table & Departure

The boy is freed, the reward is won, and the party leaves Dravenmere in luxury. But a letter from Dristuul hangs over the departure: he will be tried for the murder of a high-ranking officer. On the eve of the voyage, Sneid confesses a devastating secret — he is not human, and the children The Cradle steals are not what they seem.

The Return Up

  • Kailas, Edrin and Korin took the elevator back up (about 15 minutes), while Jaruul and Nyxara stayed briefly to explore the cave.
  • The boy revealed he had been brought to the cave blindfolded — but not through the elevator.
  • Sneid Arkmos inspected the body left behind to guess its age, then buried it.

The Customs Office

  • The trio reached the Customs Office upstairs and was invited for a nightcap.
  • They reported their findings to the officers, who revealed that the area was meant for city expansion but never used — so nothing should have been down there.
  • The party advised the officers to take the cavalry and check it out themselves.
  • The rest of the party came up and reunited with the group.

The Reward

  • The boy’s father rewarded the party with 1,200 gold and a ship ride out of Dravenmere.
  • He handed over a letter from Dristuul, stating he would be tried for the murder of a high-ranking officer.
  • Sneid Arkmos knew the story: Dristuul was getting information from a mutual acquaintance who had previously betrayed him — the man was playing double agent, and Dristuul had got his revenge.
  • Sneid believed the target worked for The Cradle or Black Senate (secretive collectives that steal — one small, one worldwide). He confirmed Dristuul was in the Black Senate.
  • The party decided to sleep on whether to message Dristuul or try to rescue him.

The Granite Table

  • The party stayed at The Granite Table, a white and gold house.
  • An elvish woman, Orla Kett, pointed them to their rooms and prepared a big banquet — and mentioned their flight/ship would be around 9:30–10:00.
  • Nyxara used a spell (Sending) to ask Dristuul if he was okay. He answered that all was good and he would find them later.

The 16th of Undilar

Sneid’s Secret

  • Sneid shared a secret: he shapeshifted into Korin and revealed he was not human.
  • Sneid explained that the children kidnapped by The Cradle were not actually humans. The man Kailas had killed was one of the stolen children from Sneid’s village from a while ago. Their true faces lack features, and they transform into what they see.

The Skyship

  • Stepping outside, the boy’s father was waiting to take the party to the topmost port.
  • They saw a beautiful, spotless, immaculate ship — no shouting, crates, or bad smells.
  • The father turned in the paperwork, and a man named Alistair Vellmont escorted the party to their luxurious cabins like a butler.
  • On each bed was a package from Lord Ordane with a silver family crest token and a handwritten note thanking them for saving his son.
