Session 30 - Morning at the Mansion

Morning at the Mansion

  • Moelwyn (who had been asleep for two to three weeks) and Ishanah attempted to cook breakfast in the kitchen. Results questionable.
  • Korin, Dristuul, and Theros joined them. Korin asked Theros to cook but promptly sat down next to Moelwyn instead, choosing conversation over culinary duties.
  • Dristuul found beef jerky in his pocket, sniffed it, put it back. The group discussed meat and convinced him to share — but everyone politely declined.
  • Nyxara shared her story: she hails from Dal Quor (the Region of Dreams) and is haunted by Vathiriss, a powerful quori. Dristuul recognized Dal Quor; Korin had heard of it. Moelwyn reassured her, saying he might be able to help once he recovers.
  • Confirmed the Cobalt Soul has fallen.
  • Moelwyn directed them to his shop in Palebank Village for helpful items (enchanted goggles, Crystal Ball).

Farewell to Sly

  • Korin searched the mansion for Sly but couldn’t find him.
  • Dristuul tracked his scent to the second floor; Jaruul checked for invisibility — nothing.
  • Found Sly relaxing in a hidden pool.
  • Dristuul gave him some jerky — hastily accepted. The party said their goodbyes.

Travel to Jinsan

Joey Lokbrass and the Breaker of Chains

  • Nyxara spotted a wagon on the road — Joey Lokbrass’s travelling shop, Breaker of Chains.
  • Items for sale: Rope of Climbing (talks and barks), enchanted mirror, Rings of Resistance, Lucky Stone.
  • The enchanted Mirror of Desire showed each person their deepest longing:
  • The mirror cracked when Jaruul looked into it — his gaze specifically breaks it. Repaired with Mending by Nyxara, Theros, and Jaruul, with Dristuul joining in support. Looking again after repair showed the same visions.
  • Dristuul tried to trade his Bottomless FlaskJoey offered two Rings of Resistance in exchange.
  • Jaruul’s chaos: used Disguise Self to look like Joey, snuck over to Joey’s two brothers, and accused the real Joey of being an imposter. The brothers were thrown into utter confusion. Jaruul then summoned a 10ft illusory giant from the Deck of Illusions. Joey, terrified, begged the party for help. They “defeated” the illusion and negotiated a massive discount.
  • Dristuul finally obtained his Rope of Climbing.
  • The party realised the mirror is a Mirror of Desire and discussed what the visions might mean.
