Dal Quor
Dal Quor, the Region of Dreams, is a plane of existence where the boundary between thought and reality dissolves. It is a realm shaped by the collective unconscious of mortal minds — a place of shifting dreamscapes, where landscapes form and collapse according to the emotions and memories of dreamers. Originally drawn from Eberron cosmology, Dal Quor has been adapted into the campaign’s broader planar framework.
The Quori
Dal Quor is home to the Quori — powerful dream spirits that exist as native inhabitants of the plane. The Quori are not a monolithic force; they range from benevolent entities of light to malevolent horrors that feed on fear and suffering. Vathiriss, the Whispering Hunger of the Dreaming Dark, is one such tainted Quori, now bound to Nyxara.
The Kalashtar and the Inspired
Two mortal lineages are directly shaped by Dal Quor’s influence:

The Kalashtar are people bonded with spirits of light from Dal Quor. They fight against the plane’s tyranny, serving as a bulwark against the Dreaming Dark’s reach into the waking world. Nyxara’s mother was Kalashtar, carrying this tradition of resistance.

The Inspired are mortal vessels for evil Quori — willing or unwilling hosts through whom the dark spirits of Dal Quor exert influence on the material plane. Nyxara’s father was Inspired, bound to a malevolent Quori.
The collision of these two bloodlines in Nyxara produced something unprecedented: a bond not with a spirit of light, but with Vathiriss, a tainted Quori of the Dreaming Dark.
The Dreaming Dark
The Dreaming Dark is a sinister force or faction within Dal Quor that represents the plane’s darkest aspect. It seeks to extend its influence beyond the dream plane and into the waking world through the Inspired and other agents. Vathiriss bears the title “Whispering Hunger of the Dreaming Dark,” marking it as an entity of significance within this faction.
Campaign Connections
- Nyxara — Born of both Kalashtar and Inspired blood, Nyxara is Dal Quor’s most direct presence in the party. The plane’s influence follows her through the bond with Vathiriss.
- Dristuul — Recognised Dal Quor by name when Nyxara shared her story, suggesting prior knowledge of the plane or its legends.
- Korin — Had heard of Dal Quor before Nyxara’s account, indicating that knowledge of the dream plane exists in broader Exandrian lore.
- The Moonweaver — Her grace helps Nyxara resist the Dreaming Dark’s influence, suggesting a divine opposition to Dal Quor’s darker forces.
- Moelwyn — Has offered to help Nyxara with her Vathiriss problem, implying he possesses knowledge of Dal Quor or its entities.
