Feywild
The Feywild, also called the Fey Realm or the Plane of Faerie, is a plane of existence that overlaps with the Material Plane. It is a realm of heightened emotion, wild magic, and fey logic, where the landscape shifts according to mood and memory rather than fixed geography. The Feywild is home to the Archfey, fey creatures of immense power, and serves as the source of Theros’s Warlock pact with Titania, Queen of the Fey Wild.
Overview
| Type | Plane of existence (echo of the Material Plane) |
| Also Known As | Fey Realm, Plane of Faerie |
| Ruler | Titania (Queen of the Fey Wild, Summer Court) |
| Notable Inhabitants | Archfey, fey creatures, Titania, Lady Elmenore (Seelie Court) |
| Navigation | Duskward, seaward, nightward, tangleward |
The Feywild operates by its own internal logic. Directions do not follow compass points but instead use fey-specific orientations: duskward, seaward, nightward, and tangleward. Time moves unpredictably, and creatures who leave the Feywild risk losing their memories of the experience (DC 10 Wisdom save).
The Moonweaver (Sehanine) is known to frequently wander the Feywild, drawn to its enchantments and illusions.
Fey Courts
The Feywild is governed by powerful Archfey who preside over various courts:
- Summer Court — Ruled by Titania, the Queen of the Fey Wild. Her power is vast, and her influence extends into the Material Plane through pacts and champions.
- Seelie Court — Presided over by Lady Elmenore. The Seelie fey are generally more benevolent, though “benevolent” by fey standards can still be capricious and dangerous.
Connection to the Campaign
Titania and Theros
Titania is Theros’s Warlock patron (Archfey). Her influence over him and his family runs deep:
- Theros’s father, a High Elf druid of considerable combat skill, became Titania’s champion in the Feywild — and eventually her thrall. He entered her service to give Theros life, curing a birth disease.
- Theros sold his soul to Titania in exchange for the power to rescue Neerah from the Obsidian Prison beneath Shalarag. He is expected to become Titania’s next thrall.
Session 26 — Theros’s Secret Visit
During Session 26, Theros was secretly transported to the Feywild by Titania. While there:
- He encountered a druid claiming to be his father, now serving as Titania’s champion
- Titania merged his familiar Hazel with the Grimoire Infinitus, transforming the tome into Theros’s Book of Shadows (Pact of the Tome)
- The rest of the party was unaware of this visit at the time
Properties
- Memory Loss — Creatures leaving the Feywild must succeed on a DC 10 Wisdom save or lose their memories of time spent there.
- Fey Logic — The plane does not follow material-world rules of geography, causality, or time. Bargains, promises, and names carry binding power.
- Overlap — The Feywild mirrors the Material Plane but in a heightened, fantastical form. Locations may correspond loosely to their material counterparts.
