Renamed The Aurora Borealis after the party rebuilt it.
A rowdy inn off an open plaza on Cinder Row, in the Ashen Fall Quarter of Drar — a haunt of the district’s metalworkers, and the lodging of Rurik Drenn until the brawl that wrecked it.
Overview
The Vulnerable Swordsman is a loud, packed tavern in the smoke-choked Ashfall district, frequented chiefly by metalworker humans. It sits on an open plaza along Cinder Row, not far from the hidden home of Aldrick Voss.
It was run by a bartender named Tvil, who served litre tankards of beer and watched, distraught, as his establishment was torn apart in the brawl of Session 65.
Events
- Session 65 — The party came hunting Rurik Drenn, who was harassing a worker at the bar. Jaruul slipped behind the counter, was caught, and started a pub brawl. The party walled off Rurik’s table and cut down his bandits while the commoners and the waitress escaped.
- Session 66 — In the ensuing fight, Rurik Drenn drew two guns, downed Jaruul, and was finally killed by Sneid Arkmos with three shots. The party interrogated the last surviving bandit, then spent about three hours rebuilding the wrecked tavern.
- Korin donated 50 gold, and the party negotiated better terms for the workers.
- Tvil renamed the inn “The Aurora Borealis” in their honour, and the party agreed to stay the night.
- Session 67 — The party spent their last night here and departed the next morning, with Tvil thanking them warmly. Dristuul later leveraged the tavern in negotiations, claiming ownership and pitching a fish-jerky trade route to Jinsan to win a discount from the Sand Witch dealer Sulk.
