Session 43 - Through the Mountain Mine
- Freed the prisoners behind the Hydra. The village elder explained the invasion and recent illness caused by the fog.
- Villagers guided the party toward Shalarag via an old mountain mine (3-4 days)
- Fenna (a villager) led them to the cave entrance. Rested in Nyxara’s hut.
- Date: 26th of Thunsheer, 836. Level up!
- Theros scryed Neerah — still breathing, but surroundings unseen
- Cave entrance: hot dry draft. Ioun stone streaks visible in the walls (couldn’t extract). Kailas lit the way with Pyremaul.
- Floor covered in ash. Tight crevices venting hot steam. Dristuul smelled sulfur.
- Reached a cavern with a lava river. Black fungi released green gas — Jaruul took necrotic damage. Theros destroyed the fungi.
- Used magic and Korin’s spirit horse Loki to cross the lava
- A natural bridge over another lava river. A massive Tlexolotl and three salamanders erupted from the lava.
- Defeated them. Found all Ioun seams converging into a glowing red Ioun stone — Theros pulled it free.
