Bahamut
Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, is a draconic deity of justice and nobility. He played a pivotal role in The Calamity and his legacy — both real and fabricated — shapes key locations in the campaign.
Role in the Calamity
During The Calamity, Bahamut fought alongside Pelor the Dawnfather to defeat Tiamat, the Dragon Queen. Their combined might struck Tiamat down and split her soul in two. One fragment was cast into Avernus, where it was later forged into five powerful rings.
What remains hidden from accepted history is that Tiamat did not fight alone. Falazure, the draconic god of death and decay, secretly assisted Tiamat during the battle against Bahamut. This alliance went unrecorded by historians and theologians.
The False Legacy in Shalarag
The city of Shalarag was built upon what its people believed to be a sacred site blessed by Bahamut. Beneath the city lie enormous draconic scales, long venerated as relics of the Platinum Dragon. The church in Shalarag is adorned with paintings of Bahamut, and the royal family claimed his blessing.
This is a lie. The scales are not Bahamut’s — they belong to Falazure. The royal family of Shalarag is not blessed by Bahamut but cursed by the Dragon God of Decay. The church was built directly over a seal binding Falazure’s essence.
