Antamian Empire

The Antamian Empire is a major military power and one of the campaign’s principal antagonist factions. Its soldiers stormed Shalarag without warning, slaughtering civilians and military alike and bringing about the city’s fall. Their motives remain unclear, though Ishanah warned the party that the Antamian forces were searching for someone specific during the assault.

Little is known about the Antamian Empire’s internal structure, leadership, or territorial holdings. What is known comes entirely from the devastating assault on Shalarag and the warnings issued during that battle. The Empire operates with overwhelming military force and apparent disregard for civilian life.

The Fall of Shalarag

The Antamian Empire launched a sudden and brutal invasion of Shalarag. Soldiers stormed the city, killing everyone in sight — soldiers and civilians were cut down indiscriminately. The assault was swift and merciless.

When the party fought their way to the throne room during the attack, they discovered that Emperor Kaelor IV Cheon had already been dead for weeks — the city had been without its ruler long before the invasion began. Serena Voss was killed during the assault.

During the chaos, Ishanah contacted the party telepathically, warning them that the Antamian Empire was searching for someone. She directed them to flee south. The party escaped the falling city and made their way to Jurin, where they regrouped at their mansion.

Open Questions

  • Who were the Antamians searching for? Ishanah’s warning indicated the invasion was not purely military conquest — the Empire had a specific target.
  • Why Shalarag? The city’s strategic importance, its connection to Falazure’s seal, and the Cheon Dynasty’s cursed bloodline may all factor into the Empire’s motivations.
  • What is the Antamian Empire’s broader agenda? Their territorial ambitions and political structure remain unknown.
