Vespin Chloras
Vespin Chloras was a powerful mage who lived in the post-Calamity era. Driven by ambition and deceived by Tiamat’s whispers, he became the primary agent in a failed attempt to resurrect the Dragon Queen.
Background
Vespin Chloras was a formidable arcanist whose talents drew the attention of Tiamat herself. From her prison, Tiamat reached out to him, promising him unimaginable power in exchange for one task: reunite the five rings forged from her soul and use them to bring her back.
Seduced by the offer, Vespin Chloras set about collecting the rings from their scattered hiding places across the continents.
Defeat
Vespin Chloras was ultimately stopped by three heroes who banded together to oppose him:
The battle was costly. Moelwyn lost his left arm and was forced into arcane hibernation. Kallum, having claimed one of the rings, eventually succumbed to its corruption and turned against his former allies. Only Ishanah emerged relatively intact.
Legacy
Brennan
Vespin Chloras left behind a son: Brennan. Brennan is a Fiend — his nature tied to his father’s pact with Tiamat and the infernal origins of the rings. Despite his parentage, Brennan’s loyalties are complicated, and he has aided the party on multiple occasions, including teleporting them to Vokarth Academy via a circle of teleportation.
The Rings
Three of The Five Rings of Tiamat ended up in the hands of the heroes who defeated him. The remaining two stayed with the Cobalt Soul and Vokarth Academy. The threat Vespin Chloras sought to unleash remains very much alive.
