The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl is a busy tavern in Drar, carved down into the sandstone just off the open plaza of the Scalded Market.
Overview
Unusually for a tavern, The Dust Bowl is subterranean — patrons descend a flight of steps from the plaza into a low-ceilinged room hewn from sandstone. The space is surprisingly cool despite the desert heat outside, and almost always packed with travellers and locals.
The tavern serves food and drink at the table, but rents no rooms. Travellers looking for lodging are usually directed across the city to one of the inns in The Warren.
The toilet is, charitably, a hole in the ground beside a bucket of suspect water.

- In Session 61, the party stopped here as evening fell after a long day in Drar.
- A dragonborn waiter served them a round of the cheapest beverage the tavern offered.
- Korin paid the bartender a gold coin for information on Aldrick Voss. The bartender did not recognise the name but hinted that there are people in the city who can find anyone — without naming them.
- Dristuul silently recognised who the bartender meant: an influential and powerful group in Drar.
- Kailas used the toilet here to “wash” his shit-smeared hands, leaving them smelling like cat piss instead.
