Little is known about its full structure or goals within the campaign, but its presence has already left a deep mark on the party through Nyxara.

- Vathiriss, the entity bound to Nyxara, bears the title “the Whispering Hunger of the Dreaming Dark,” identifying it as an agent or manifestation of this force
- The Dreaming Dark is connected to the Quori — the powerful dream spirits native to Dal Quor
- The Inspired, mortal vessels for evil Quori, serve as the Dreaming Dark’s agents in the material world. Nyxara’s father was one such vessel.
- The Kalashtar, including Nyxara’s mother, are those who fight against Dal Quor’s tyranny and by extension the Dreaming Dark’s reach
